The builders now had a plan to dig out the
foundations of this building so we left just after breakfast for Lake Edward.
Lake Edward is joined to Lake George by a very large river and it was in the
middle of the two lakes where the land was we had just come from. Sadly there
was no sign I could stand under to prove I had visited Lake Edward so Emma
mocked one up on a bit of card while Rich held it up in my photo. It took about
6 hours on and off to travel back from Kasesse but it was all ok.
Today back at the lodge it was Zoe’s 21st
birthday and also the security guard Laurence’s 26th but without any
power in the lodge it was a bit quiet as Fridays is normally an evening with
music and games. Zoe had 21 different challenges to for fill throughout the
night as part of her birthday games. One game we did play was hit the bottle
with that stick and I think Rich and I raised another 30,000 shillings to go
towards the playground. Before I come home I want to have enough money to pay
for a slide for them but it will have to be made out of a sheet of metal or
they would get splinters in their bum as they slide down any wood we have on
site.
Another metal bar had been broken from our
climbing frame so that is another job for Monday.
We are off to Rwanda on thursday to make sure we can see the start of the world cup where there is a tv and reliable electric. I went the other week but its a great country known as the Singapore of Africa
