Today is a government
holiday so we are having the day off. Also it happens to be Maria’s Birthday so
we have been spending the day having a laugh with one another and getting to
know all the new volunteers.
Allen is an engineer from the UK which is
great hes teaching us the best way to use the pizza oven sola heater and also
should be taking Rich Emma and I to a piece of land which is owned by Dennis.
Dennis is the Ugandan head of this charity. While we are at his land we will be
installing a water purifier so they can have clean water to drink.
In the pizza oven we have made Spanish omelettes
for lunch as Maria is herself Spanish. It was amazing the first filling meal
that had tons of flavour as the food here is quite limited to what they have
cheaply around them.
Also Jordan who is a volunteers coordinator
organised a treasure hunt around the site. We were set out in teams and had
riddles as clues for the next one until we got to the last one which was a
small treasure chest. Sadly my team was a few seconds too late and came second
leaving Rich to win.
As I write this now we are making flat
jacks for pudding I can’t wait!
