This was a day of
relaxing and strolling around some shops in town. Emma read in her guide that
there was a Muslim quarter within the city that was a good visit. When we got
there it was pretty much the same as most places in Africa with just a few more
mosques . We had the chance to go and walk around one but I was very disappointed.
The buildings were all run down and mainly empty with not a lot to see. There
was a school attached with only a small number of students and they studied a
lot in silence.
Our guide took us to see a craft market
where you can buy all of the normal crafts found in Africa. In the craft market
there was about 25-30 stalls each looked the same as the last with exactly the
same stuff on sale.
I managed to haggle my nephew Joel a drum
which just fits inside my bag so he has a birthday present when I get home. I
love to buy Joel loud toys because I get to have fun with him and when it gets
too noisy I also get to leave him playing away with no fuss.
